On behalf of the students, staff, and families of Tignish Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school community. Our school has both French and English classes with 248 students from kindergarten to grade six. As I begin my first year as Principal, I am honoured to continue serving a school where I taught for 17 years, including 8 years as Vice Principal.
At Tignish Elementary, our goal is to provide every student with a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place to learn, grow, and belong. While Literacy and Numeracy remain important foundations of our students’ learning, we know that education is about so much more. We want our students to develop confidence, resilience, responsibility, and the skills they need to become caring and successful members of their communities.
I believe strongly that it’s all about the kids. Every decision we make, every opportunity we provide, and every relationship we build should have our students at the heart of it. Creating a positive school community is a team effort, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and the entire Tignish community to help every child feel valued, supported, and capable of success.
I am looking forward to an exciting year filled with learning, growth, connection, and plenty of opportunities for our Tignish Tigers to show their stripes.
